Cavitation

How does the CAVITATION treatment work?
Cavitation uses an ultrasound wave to mechanically disrupt the cell membrane of the fat cell.  The ultrasound wave creates a vibration within the fat layer, the fat cells do not have the structural capacity to with stand this vibration and the cell membrane will very quickly break down.

What happens to the fat?
During the CAVITATION treatment, the membranes of the fat cells are disrupted. The fat cell content, primarily comprised of triglycerides, is dispersed into the fluid between the cells and then transported through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver. The liver makes no distinction between fat coming from the CAVITATION treatment and fat originating from consumed food. Both are processed by the body’s natural mechanisms.

Who is it for?
The CAVITATION treatment has been designed to help average to overweight men and women. It offers an alternative to patients seeking effective reduction of localized fat deposits without surgery.

What body areas are treated?
The CAVITATION treatment focuses on the abdomen and flanks (love handles) thighs and buttocks.

What results can I expect?
An average of 1-2 cm reduction in circumference can be achieved after a single treatment of Cavitation.

What will I experience during treatment?
The size of the treatment area determines the duration of the session. During treatment, a handheld device delivering ultrasound energy gently glides over the marked area. The majority of treated patients consistently report a painless and comfortable experience.  Clients will generally experience a ‘tweeting’ noise in their ears.

What happens after treatment?
As soon as the session is over, you can immediately resume your daily routine. There is no recuperation period.  Patients are recommended to have a course of 6-8 sessions on a weekly basis.  Patients state that there is no post-treatment pain or discomfort.

FAQ’s

Radio Frequency

How does the Radio Frequency treatment work?
Radio Frequency, in the context of aesthetic applications, is a general method to heat deep skin layers by delivering High Frequency current to the body. Skin layers act like resistors in series to the HF electrical current and depending on their resistance they heat up to varying degrees.

What is the targeted maximum skin temperature?
The targeted skin temperature should be 40º C for a few minutes but skin temperature should be kept below 45º C.

Who is it for?
Radio Frequency treatment is beneficial for patients seeking skin tightening on body or face and also offers a smoothing appearance on areas of cellulite.

What body areas are treated?
The RF treatment focuses on the abdomen, thighs, inside thighs and facial skin tightening.

How long will the results last?
Each individual responds differently. On average the immediate result of a Focus Fractional RF treatment will typically last a few days from the first treatment. After every consecutive treatment this period increases until the 5th or 6th treatment when typically the longer term results start to set.  After a course of treatments, Cellulite results typically last a few months if a regime of diet and exercises is followed.
For longer term results the customer needs to return for maintenance treatments every 4-8 weeks.
Skin tightening results typically last for a few months, the customer will need to return for maintenance treatments every 4-8 weeks.

What is the interval of the treatment?
It is recommended that the Focus Fractional RF device not be used more than once per week for both skin tightening and cellulite.  Letting the skin rest in between each treatment is important to allow the natural process of the skin’s collagen renewal to take full effect and in cellulite treatments the fatty tissue to metabolise.  A course of 6-8 treatments is recommended.

Where can we achieve the best results?
Cellulite reduction: Anyone with cellulite and is over 18 years of age. More treatment sessions are required for higher cellulite grades.
Skin tightening: Older skin has a higher degree of sagging and wrinkling, but still has enough skin depth and collagen to generate a significant tightening effect.  It also starts to lose critical collagen mass, therefore treatments are less effective and more treatments may be required.
Younger skin has a higher collagen mass and is easier to stimulate, therefore less treatments may be required.  Maintenance treatments are recommended in both cases.

What will I experience during treatment?
During treatment, a handheld device delivering RF energy gently glides over the area.  Patients will feel heat on the treatment area, but is a painless and comfortable experience.

What happens after treatment?
As soon as the session is over, you can immediately resume your daily routine. There is no recuperation period.   It is recommended to keep the treated area away from any excess heat for a period of 24 hours.  Patients are recommended to have a course of 6-8 sessions on a weekly basis.  Patients state that there is no post-treatment pain or discomfort.

FAQ’s

HIFU

How does the HIFU treatment work?
HIFU uses a working surface area of 43mm² delivering high intensity focused ultrasound 13mm into the subcutaneous fat via a hand piece.  This energy creates a heat of 60-65° causing Necrosis within the fat cells in targeted areas.  HIFU will treat ‘pockets of fat’ situated around the body, ideal for sculpting the body shape.
The effected fat cells in the treated area die and dissolve over a course of weeks.

What happens to the fat?
When fat cells are exposed to the intense heat created by the HIFU the cells start to inflame and breakdown.  This causes the entire cell to swell and rupture (cell lysis) the ultimate breakdown of the plasma membrane, the contents of the cell including extracellular fluid.
This inflammatory response attracts Macrophages that ingest and clear the extracellular lipids and cellular debris.
Due to the heat increase with in the skin, contraction and thickening of the collagen fibers is achieved giving a noticeable skin tightening effect

Who is it for?
HIFU will treat ‘pockets of fat’ situated around the body.  Ideal for sculpting the body shape.

What body areas are treated?
The HIFU treatment focuses on pockets of fat on the abdomen and flanks, under arm and inside thighs.

What results can I expect?
The fat cells in the treated area die and dissolve then the residue is picked up by the Lymphatic system and removed through the body over a course of weeks.  This will give a permanent reduction in the fat layer treated.

What will I experience during treatment?
Firstly the Therapist will mark the treated area to determine treatment procedure.  A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin and the treatment head.  The treatment head is placed on the area and the HIFU is emitted.  There will be a build-up of heat in the area for 2 minutes and then the hand piece is placed in the next area and process repeated until the area is complete.

What happens after treatment?
As soon as the session is over, the treatment area will have normal surface temperature but heat will be felt deeper in the skin.  The area can be red and swollen and this can be experienced for up to 2 weeks. The results of the HIFU procedure are usually visible two to four months after treatment.

FAQ’s

Shockwave

How does the Shockwave treatment work?
Shockwaves induce the formation of waves that travel certain speeds to produce a cavitation effect.  This effect creates a pressure force which creates the formation and then the implosion of water bubbles, which release strong micro-flows to encourage the breakdown of hardened fibrous tissue.

What happens to the fat?
Fat cells will be damaged and become permeable, then Triglycerides will be released into the intercellular space.  Shockwave therapy will activate the body’s metabolism and encourage the clearing out of these impurities from the system by lymphatic movement and waste removal via the Liver.

Who is it for?
The Shockwave treatment has been designed to help average to overweight men and women.  This treatment will encourage fat metabolism, improve skin tightening and Lymphatic drainage.

What body areas are treated?
The Shockwave treatment focuses on the abdomen and flanks (love handles) thighs, buttocks and arms.

What results can I expect?
A course of treatments is recommended 1 – 2 times weekly.  Photographs will be taken before, during and after your treatment course to monitor results and show progression.  Results will show cellulite reduction, inch loss and a smoother overall appearance.

What will I experience during treatment?
During treatment, a handheld device delivering the shockwave energy will glide over the area. The majority of treated patients consistently report a painless and comfortable experience.  Clients will generally hear a fast banging noise from the shockwave hand piece.

What happens after treatment?
As soon as the session is over, you can immediately resume your daily routine. There is no recuperation period.  Patients are recommend to drink 2 litres of water daily.  30 mins of exercise 2-3 x weekly is also beneficial to gain faster results.

Cryolipolysis

How does the Cryo treatment work?
Cryolipolysis uses a chilled hand piece to create apoptosis within the fat in targeted areas.  Cryo will treat ‘pockets of fat’ situated around the body.  Ideal for sculpting the body shape.
Between 20-40% of the fat cells in the treated area die in a natural way and dissolve over a course of weeks.

What happens to the fat?
When fat cells are exposed to a precise cooling below body temperature, they undergo crystallisation, separation and localised cell death (apoptosis).  This is followed by a local inflammatory response.  Apoptosis - Is sometimes referred to as programmed cell death the process of apoptosis follows a controlled, predictable routine.
During Cryolipolysis the cell shrinks and sends out distress signals, which are answered by macrophages. The macrophages clean away the shrunken or damaged cells, leaving no trace. This stimulates a natural fat removal process that continues for several months after the procedure.

Who is it for?
Cryolipolysis will treat ‘pockets of fat’ situated around the body.  Ideal for sculpting the body shape.

What body areas are treated?
The Cryo treatment focuses on pockets of fat on the abdomen and flanks, under arm and inside thighs.

What results can I expect?
Between 20-40% of the fat cells in the treated area die in a natural way and dissolve over a course of weeks.

What will I experience during treatment?
Firstly a Cryo pad containing skin protecting fluid is applied to the treatment area.  The Cryo hand piece is attached to the treatment area and delivers a gentle vacuum pressure.  This draws the tissue between the cooling panels within the hand piece.  The hand piece stays on the skin for 45 minutes.

What happens after treatment?
As soon as the session is over, the treatment area will feel cold to touch and slightly numb.  The area can be red and swollen and localised numbness can be experienced for up to 2 months.  The treated area can feel cold and firm for up to 2 weeks and occasionally bruising can occur and last for up to 10 days.  The results of the Cryolipolysis procedure are usually visible two to four months after treatment, and will continue to improve for up to six months.
